Newport R988(PP) was the top priced herd bull at our 2021 sale and sold for $28,000 to the Hasleby Family of the Biara Stud, WA. We used him as a sire for a season before he made the trip to WA. He has since been back and forth, completing mating seasons on each side of the country. Right from the first mating he has remained in good condition at all times - he is a terrific doer, especially for a big bull. Newport is one of the best bodied bulls we have ever bred - so deep, wide and long. His composite heritage is obvious in his make-up with extra fleshing and a maternal look. Newport himself ranked right up at the top of his mobs at 400-day and at 600-day weight. The Newport sons in this sale are born out of commercial heifers and have genomically derived EBVs. His younger calves coming through the Biara Herd are fully recorded and measured so in time will provide better data in determining his EBVs
