Iceman Q1180(PP) is a Maverick/Jackaroo genetic combination. His dam has had five progeny, calving annually and is PTIC. Iceman has been used as a sire in our herd through AI. He was sold as a yearling at our 2020 Sale for $40,000 to the Rowanlea and Fishington Studs. The photo here was taken at around eighteen months of age. Iceman has a great balance of low birthweight, high growth. Moderate in frame, his later weights defy the looks of both he and his progeny. No doubt, mature weights taken on his female relatives will have an influence on this. We find that moderate framed females that hold condition easily tend to weigh as much as their bigger framed counterparts who don’t have quite the constitution. Iceman’s fertility data is particularly good and help drive his $Index values to breed leading levels. At +$121, he currently ranks as #6 sire in the breed for the Fertility Plus $Index. His breeding consistency is highlighted by the fact that a big percentage of his sons made the sale team.
